This Privacy Policy describes how MACULINX ("we", "us", or "the Data Controller") collects,
uses, and discloses your information in relation to your use of the website
tickzero.maculinx.com ("Website") and the open-source software TickZero
("Software"), in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

2. Types of Data Collected and Processing Methods
2.1 Website Data
When you visit our Website, we automatically collect certain information via third-party services to improve
user experience and analyze traffic:
- Navigation and Analytics Data (Google Analytics 4): We collect aggregated and
anonymized data such as pages visited, time spent on pages, browser type, and approximate geographic
location (IP anonymized).
- Google Fonts: To properly display text, your IP address may be transferred to Google's
domains (
fonts.googleapis.com).
2.2 TickZero Software Data
The TickZero software is designed to run locally on your machine.
- Local Processing: The software processes game log files ("Game State Integration"),
real-time events, and video recordings directly on your hardware (CPU/GPU). We do not receive or
store your gameplay data or video clips on our servers.
- SteamID: The software uses your SteamID to identify the player and filter gameplay
actions (e.g., distinguishing your kills from your teammates' to prevent false positives). This data is
processed locally.
- Artificial Intelligence Integration (Google Gemini): To analyze highlights, the
software utilizes the Google Gemini API. You must provide your own personal API key. In this context,
textual log data is transmitted directly from your device to Google servers for analysis. MACULINX does
not have access to this data or your API key. The use of Gemini is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
3. Purpose of Processing and Legal Basis
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- Website Functionality: To ensure navigation and font
rendering.
Legal basis: Legitimate Interest and Performance of a Service (Art. 6(1)(b), (f) GDPR).
- Statistical Analysis: To understand how the website is
used via analytics cookies.
Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), expressed via the cookie banner.
- Software Functionality: Local processing of data (logs,
SteamID) is necessary to provide the clip creation features requested by the user.
Legal basis: Performance of a Contract/Service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
4. Third-Party Services and Data Transfers
We use third-party service providers who may act as independent controllers or processors. Data may be
transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA):
- Google Analytics 4 & Google Fonts: Technical data (such as IP addresses) may be
transferred to servers located in the USA. Such transfers are based on Standard Contractual Clauses or
Adequacy Decisions adopted by the European Commission (Art. 45, 46 GDPR).
5. Cookies
The Website uses cookies to enhance your experience:
- Essential Cookies: Necessary for the website to function and to store your consent
preferences.
- Analytical Cookies: Used by Google Analytics to track website performance. These are
only activated with your explicit consent.
You can manage or delete cookies via your browser settings at any time.
6. Data Retention
- Analytics Data: Data collected via Google Analytics is retained for a period of
14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
- Software Data: Data processed by the TickZero Software (videos, logs) resides
exclusively on the user's device. Its retention is entirely at the user's discretion.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR (Articles 15-21), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access: Request confirmation as to whether or not your data is being
processed.
- Right to Rectification: Request the correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request the deletion of data if it is no
longer necessary or if you withdraw consent.
- Right to Restriction: Request the limitation of processing in certain circumstances.
- Right to Portability: Receive your data in a structured format and transmit it to
another controller.
- Right to Object: Object to the processing of your data at any time.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the
lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a Supervisory Authority if you believe the
processing violates the GDPR (Art. 77 GDPR).

date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
